Dr.-Ing. Martin Bastian 
Profile:
After the training to become a toolmaker and a mechanical engineering technician (with the subject area of Design) and subsequent actitivities in these occupations, Martin Bastian began his Mechanical Engineering studies with the subject area of Process and Plastics Technology at the University of Paderborn. He wrote his doctoral thesis on the subject of the "Plastification and morphological development of polymer blends in extruders". He worked as the Head of the Technology Department at the German Plastics Institute (DKI) in Darmstadt before he moved to the South German Plastics Centre (SKZ) in Würzburg in 2003. There, he initially performed the tasks of the Managing Director for the fields of Research and Development as well as Testing, Quality Assurance and Certification. The engineer with a doctor's degree has been the Institute Director there since 2006 and is currently preparing his post-doctoral thesis on the subject of the "Colouring of plastics".
