Publication Ethics

All published articles conform to internationally accepted ethical guidelines and have been approved by an appropriate body.

The Editor

  • regards the needs of readers and authors
  • acts in an objective way at all times and without discrimination
  • does not publish papers which are in conflict with his interest
  • responds to complaints and publishes corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed
  • preserves the anonymity of reviewers

The Author

  • consents to the peer review process
  • confirms that the work and results described in his paper are his own and that content used from other sources is cited and acknowledged properly
  • assures that all data stated in his paper are real and authentic
  • informs the editor about potential conflicts of interest
  • informs the editor immediately if a mistake in their publication is identified and corrects, clarifies and retracts the paper when needed

The Peer Reviewer

  • validates the manuscript’s accuracy and reliability before publication
  • reviews articles objectively
  • treats the reviewed material confidentially and does not pass information on to third parties
  • informs the editor about potential conflicts of interest

Malpractice Statement

  • The compliance with the publication ethics is monitored.
  • Misconduct and unethical behavior are taken seriously and entail consequences. (This applies for published as well as unpublished papers.)
  • After collecting sufficient information about the case, further steps are decided.
  • The accused person is approached and informed about his false behavior.

Publications are retracted or withdrawn if necessary
