Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Gunter Kullmer


Gunter Kullmer, born in Appenthal in 1961, studied mechanical engineering with a specialization in "theoretical mechanical engineering" at the University of Kaiserslautern from 1982 to 1987. He received his doctorate in 1993 after working as a research assistant in the field of notch fracture mechanics at the Applied Mechanics Group of the University of Paderborn. In 1998, he habilitated at the University of Paderborn with the topic "Biomechanical analyses of the human musculoskeletal system using the finite element method" and received his teaching license in 1999. 1997 - 2001 he worked as a department head at the Westphalian Environmental Center. From 2001 - 2015, he was first a senior assistant and then a research associate at the Applied Mechanics Division. In 2010, he was awarded the title of ,,außerplanmäßiger Professor". Since 2015 he has been head of the Applied Mechanics Department
