Dr. Olaf Hesebeck


Olaf Hesebeck, born in Bremen in 1970, studied physics at the Georg-August University of Göttingen from 1989 to 1995. Until 1995, the graduate physicist worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe, where he wrote a dissertation in the field of continuum damage mechanics. After completing his doctorate, he started working as a scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM in the Department of Adhesive Bonding Technology and Surfaces in 2000. Since then, the focus of his research has been on modeling, experimental parameter determination, and validation for predicting the mechanical behavior of bonded joints.
