Dr.-Ing. Martin Traub

Dr Martin Traub studied mechanical engineering and industrial engineering at RWTH Aachen University and Michigan State University. He then completed his doctorate at the Chair of Laser Technology at RWTH Aachen University while working as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT. He has headed the ‘Optical Design and Diode Lasers’ group at ILT for over 15 years. His research focuses on the design of imaging and non-imaging optical systems, beam shaping for high-power lasers and quantum computing, and the development of diode laser pump systems for space travel, secondary sources and laser-based inertial fusion.
